Rich Harden, Trevor Hoffman, Aaron Heilman All Claimed by Mystery Teams

August 27, 2009 by · Leave a Comment

According to FOX Sports writers Ken Rosenthal and Jon Paul Morosi, Chicago Cubs pitchers Rich Harden and Aaron Heilman and Milwaukee Brewers closer Trevor Hoffman were all claimed off waivers. No word yet as to who the teams are who claimed the three players. The teams who claim these players have three days to work out trades with the Cubs and Brewers, or the Cubs and Brewers could let the teams just take the players along with their remaining 2009 contracts. Late last night, it was announced that Hoffman was put on waivers and NBC Sports suggested that the Phillies could have interest ...

Hours of Family Fun from Milton Bradley

August 27, 2009 by · Leave a Comment

Milton Bradley is a game manufacturing company best known for its popular lineup of products designed for hours of family fun.   The other Milton Bradley is a baseball player best known for his anger management issues, inappropriate comments, and a list of antics responsible for years of fan frustration.   He’s at it again. Milton Bradley says he’s tired of being booed by fans at Wrigley Field and also has been bad-mouthed in Chicago restaurants by members of the wait staff.   Milton doesn’t like being booed. Bradley is taking his board game and going home! He doesn’t want to play anymore.   "All I'm saying is ...

We Don’t Hate You, Milton Bradley…You Just Stink

August 27, 2009 by · Leave a Comment

On Tuesday, after an embarrassing 15-6 loss to the Washington Nationals, Chicago Cubs outfielder Milton Bradley said he feels "hatred" from Cubs fans and the city of Chicago. "When I go home and look in the mirror, I like what I see. My family is there I have people I can talk to who are very supportive, in spite of everything and all the adversity and the hatred you face on a daily basis. But I'll be all right. I always have. "I'm talking about hatred, period. I'm talking about when I go to eat at a restaurant. I've got to listen ...

Memo to Milton Bradley: Cubs Fans Hate Bad, Not Black

August 27, 2009 by · Leave a Comment

Last night, after the Chicago Cubs lost by nine to the lowly Washington Nationals, Milton Bradley decided it would be a good time to throw the fans under the bus. Bradley, who has not played up to the expectations associated with his three-year, $30 million contract, claimed that he's facing adversity, hatred, and even racism while playing in the Cubs outfield. In response to the fans' alleged attacks, Bradley has decided to take the low road. While being cheered on Wednesday night after a big two-run home run, Bradley taunted the fans by making hand gestures while walking back to the dugout. Way ...

Cubs-Rangers: Let’s Make a Deal!

August 26, 2009 by · Leave a Comment

As the 2009 baseball season comes to a close, it's already time for many franchises to begin evaluating their options to best position their teams in 2010. Unfortunately, one of those teams that should be looking to next year is the Chicago Cubs. The team with the best record in baseball in 2008 has fallen apart at the seams this year, and has lots of issues to deal with moving forward. They're financially strapped and need offensive help anywhere they can get it. They have problems. Yesterday, I proposed a trade between the Cubs and Red Sox to unload an under-performing asset, Carlos Zambrano, in ...

Porn Stars Are Keeping the Faith in Chicago For The Cubs

August 26, 2009 by · Leave a Comment

During the Cubs-Cardinals series this year, my buddy and Cubs fan Joe Meyer kept getting the same comeback from me when he started making snide comments about the Cardinals and the city of St. Louis. “At least our fans aren’t porn superstars,” I said, referring to a girl who goes by the name of Next Door Nikki, a porn star who lives in the suburbs of Chicago. As you can see by the pictures of her, you can tell that her pictures alone would make a Cardinals fan like myself become a Cub fan, however if I ever did become one, I would ...

Come To Think of It: The Time Is Now for the Cubs To Prepare for 2010

August 26, 2009 by · Leave a Comment

With this season all but over for the Cubs, it's time to start making some lineup changes and begin preparing for next season. It is never too early, especially with such a mess on our hands.   We now know with some certainty that both Jim Hendry and Lou Piniella will return next season. Despite my well-documented disapproval of Hendry's resume to date, it really doesn't matter because any GM who walked into this stench would have his hands tied by the same impossible-to-move long-term contracts.   As for Lou, I still wouldn't be entirely shocked if he walked away, but he has made ...

A Comprehensive Look at Why The Cubs Suck

August 26, 2009 by · Leave a Comment

I’m finally ready to get back to my Cubs coverage, I’m sorry that it took so long, but I finally have everything set up in my dorm but first, it’s been a while, how about a little update on how the writer is doing (shameless promotion time, if you don’t care, skip down a few paragraphs). I was asked by Bleacher Report to do an article on Michael Jordan, and I got the first six bottles of Jordan Gatorade produced, check it out if you can here. I am also going to be part of the new and exciting Fan Huddle. It is ...

Which Chicago Team Has Frustrated Their Fans More?

August 26, 2009 by · Leave a Comment

Like many others before it, it has been a rough baseball season in Chicago. Both the Sox and Cubs are struggling to stay above .500 and falling farther back in their respective division races. While I keep trying to convince myself that the Sox can still come back and win the division, things aren't looking particularly good at the moment. As for the Cubs, they would need quite a run to catch St. Louis or Colorado for a playoff spot. Both teams seem to find new and inventive ways to aggravate their fans, but which organization has been more frustrating this season? I've ...

Cubs-Red Sox: Let’s Make a Deal!

August 26, 2009 by · Leave a Comment

On Tuesday, the Boston Red Sox traded two players-to-be-named to the New York Mets for closer Billy Wagner. The Mets are out of the race in the National League East, and the Red Sox are fighting for their lives in the American League Wild Card race. Wagner, 38, was once an elite closer but has had Tommy John surgery and is just coming back now from a long road of injuries. He should provide additional depth to the Red Sox bullpen down the stretch. However, where the boring details end is where the story begins in Boston. Wagner didn't want to waive his no-trade ...
