The Mets beat the Cubs 4-0 yesterday behind strong performances from starter Mike Pelfrey, who shut the Cubbies out over seven innings, and a rested Jose Reyes,who had a breakout four hit performance and also stole a base.   Notes Mike Pelfrey was very effective with his new sinker. Ike Davis made his major league debut and the Mets beat the Cubs 6-1 in the series opener behind a strong performance by Jon Niese and a five-run outburst in the 7th sparked by a two-run Angel Pagan home run.
