The Chicago Cubs won their first World Series since 1908, and it only feels appropriate that they put their dedicated fans through one of the most back-and-forth, stress-inducing baseball games in recent memory. They prevailed, 8-7, against the Cleveland Indians in Wednesday's Game 7 at Progressive Field in a 10-inning battle that saw a dramatic game-tying home run off Aroldis Chapman from Cleveland's Rajai Davis in the eighth, a rain delay after the ninth and three combined runs in that extra inning. Ben Zobrist notched an RBI double in the 10th and earned World Series MVP honors. The team shared him accepting ...

The Chicago Cubs bounced back in Game 2 after Jake Arrieta took a no-hitter into the sixth inning. Now Cleveland is three wins away from winning its first title since 1948, while the Cubs are three wins away from shedding their "Lovable Losers" moniker and capturing their first championship since 1908. With that in mind, here is a ...

The Chicago Cubs took a step toward ending their World Series drought Thursday night when they clinched the National League Central. The milestone came by virtue of the St. Louis Cardinals' 6-2 loss to the San Francisco Giants despite Chicago's 5-4 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers.   The Cubs not only clinched the division; they ran away with it. No team in baseball holds as commanding of an advantage as Chicago’s 17-game lead over the Cardinals. In fact, St. Louis is closer to the last-place Cincinnati Reds (30.5 games back) in the division than it is to Chicago, and it is still a legitimate ...
